of Ice and Snow and Personal Liability. Glass and
Theft coverages are optional. A deductible of 1%
of value of the property applies for basic coverage.
For earthquake and volcanic eruption a deductible
and coinsurance applies which varies by location
of property.
PALAPA STYLE STRUCTURES CANNOT
BE INSURED
without the express written consent of Seguros Comercial
America. If you have DETACHED outbuildings
on your premises such as a garage, or storage
unit (bodega), these outbuildings and/or their
contents are automatically covered at no additional
cost up to an amount equal to 5% of the amount
of insurance you carry on your dwelling or contents
with the exception of "Palapa" structures.
If you have outbuildings on your property with
Palapa type construction an endorsement MUST be
issued excluding Coverage for outbuildings and
their contents. This endorsement will then preserve
your ability to insure your main dwelling with
no Palapa type construction. (Outbuildings excluded
for coverage must be DETACHED from main dwelling.)
Definition of Palapa:
"Palapa" means "thatched
