Taking your boat into Mexican waters-off the gulf of Mexico, Baja California, the Sea of Cortez or hundreds of inland lakes and rivers can be the experience of a lifetime. Whether you're interested in sport fishing, exploring, scuba diving or just cruising and enjoying the scenery, Mexico has something to offer.

SEGUROS COMERCIAL AMERICA offers a Hull and Liability (Protection and Indemnity) contract. This is the broad form contract, standard in the world marine market. Medical payments coverage is also available. Deductibles vary depending on the insured amount and age of the watercraft. Coverage applies to all Mexican territorial waters including inland lakes and rivers.

Boats that qualify may be covered for physical damage on the SEGUROS COMERCIAL AMERICA Tourist/Auto policy while being towed by a non-commercial vehicle on roads and highways of Mexico.

Some U.S. and other non-Mexico watercraft policies may provide limited coverage in Mexico. However, Mexican law prohibits foreign adjusters from working in Mexico and most port captains will not recognize your non-Mexico watercraft policicy.

This policy includes Legal Service - Reimbursement up to $500 for Mexican lawyer's fees and up to $2,000 for bail bonds premiums required as a result of a loss with valid Mexico receipt (Mexico Factura see below).

It is imperative for your legal protection to obtain the proper boat and fishing permits from Mexican authorities (available from International Gateway Insurance Brokers - please contact us at the address above).

NAVIGATIONAL AREA:
This policy is in effect only when the insured watercraft is in use in the territorial waters of the Republic of Mexico including inland lakes and rivers and the insured hereby warrants that the described/insured watercraft will not be navigated, docked or stored in Mexican territorial waters, including the Sea of Cortez, south of 24 degrees north latitude between June 1 and November 1 (Except by written endorsement and the payment of a 25% surcharge.)

NOTE: Applications for hull coverage on watercraft over 28 feet and/or $40,000 in value can NOT be purchased over the Internet. Applications for this category of watercraft must be accompanied by a recent Marine Survey and current photos of the watercraft.
